- The Purpose of this Organization is as follows:
- To promote a vibrant community of gamers who promote critical discourse, review popular and indie games, and discuss current events in the gaming industry.
- The Compliance of this Organization is as follows:
- The Organization agrees to follow all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- The Organization agrees to follow UT San Antonio Policies.
- The Organization strictly prohibits hazing in any form and adheres to UT San Antonio’s Student Code of Conduct.
- The Membership of this Organization is as follows:
- Members must be current UT San Antonio students or current UT San Antonio Faculty.
- Eligibility for membership may not be limited or denied to any persons based on race, marital status, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or disability.
- The Structure for this Organization is as follows:
- Staff Positions of this Organization:
- Journalists hold the following Duties:
- To publish a minimum of three articles every two months
- To write news articles about relevant events, and conduct interviews
- To ensure factual accuracy and ethical reporting by gathering information from several sources before publishing
- Reviewers hold the following Duties:
- To publish a minimum of one review every two months
- To evaluate all aspects of a game to write comprehensive reviews
- To maintain objectivity and clarity in critique
- Editors hold the following Duties:

- Meet with Officers at minimum once a semester.
- Handle inter-departmental paperwork for UT San Antonio policies and Affairs.
- Be available as needed for the resolution of accusations of Officer or Executive Officer misconduct, non-completion of Duties, or other disciplinary issues that arise.

- The Eligibility and Appointment of Officers of this Organization is as follows:
- All members applying for Officer positions must hold a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be a current UT San Antonio student.
- Members must be in good academic and disciplinary standing to apply.
- Officer appointments are determined by the Executive Panel.
- In the absence of the Executive Panel, the Faculty of Record may authorize temporary Officer elevation.
- Officer status may be revoked under the following conditions:
- Receipt of official disciplinary action from UT San Antonio and a 75% quorum by current Officers.
- Misconduct, failure to fulfill duties, or other violations as determined by a Majority of the Executive Panel.
- Faculty of Record brings forward a complaint and a 75% quorum by current Officers.
- The Meeting Structure for this Organization is as follows:
- General membership meetings shall occur at least once every two months.
- Officer meetings shall occur biweekly or as needed.
- Emergency meetings may be called by any Executive Officer with 48 hours’ notice.
- The Financial Oversight of this Organization is as follows:
- The Executive Manager shall oversee all financial transactions and maintain accurate records of income and expenditures.
- Budget proposals must be approved by a quorum of current Officers.
- All purchases over $100 require approval from all Executive Officers.
- The Faculty of Record may be consulted for financial guidance but does not hold spending authority.
- Procedures for Decision Making for this Organization is as follows:
- Quorum is defined as 75% agreement between current Officers.
- Current Officers must reach a quorum.
- Executive Panel must have unanimous agreement between all Executive Officers.
- The Conflict Resolution Procedures of the Organization are as follows:
- Member disputes shall first be addressed through mediation by the Managing Editor or Managing Reviewer.
- Unresolved issues may be escalated to the Executive Panel.
- Formal appeals may be submitted to the Faculty of Record if disciplinary action is contested.
- The Branding and Intellectual Property of the Organization are as follows:
- The Rooster name, logo, and published content are the intellectual property of the organization.
- Members may not use branding for personal projects without written approval from the Executive Manager.
- Reviews and media created by members may be published under The Rooster’s name with proper attribution.
- The Code of Ethics of the Organization is as follows:
- Integrity in all written and verbal communications.
- Fair and unbiased critique of games and industry topics.
- Respect for differing opinions and backgrounds.
- The Digital Conduct Policy of the Organization is as follows:
- Members shall maintain professionalism in all online interactions, including social media and published content.
- Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior online will result in disciplinary review.
- Members must not misrepresent the Organization or its views in personal digital spaces.
- The Defunct Status of the Organization is as follows:
- All monetary assets shall be held by the Faculty of Record until reactivation.
- Digital assets (website, social media, etc.) shall be maintained by the Executive Manager.
- All non-listed resources shall be held by the Executive Manager until reactivation.
- Procedures for Amendments to this Charter are as follows:

- Proposed amendments must receive unanimous approval from current Officers.
- Approved amendments must be presented to the Executive Panel.
- Final ratification requires unanimous agreement from the Executive Panel.
